    Back to School Pool Party Saturday August 5th, 5:30pm to 7:30pm

    The Greenwood Forest Breakers Swim Team had an awesome UNDEFEATED 2023 Summer League Season! Many new families joined the team and so many children learned to swim and improved their swimming abilities while having a great time!

    To celebrate, we are happy to invite ALL Greenwood Forest residents (pool card required) to a Back-to-School Swim Party at the clubhouse pool! Join us Saturday, August 5th from 5:30pm to 7:30 pm for an afternoon of swimming, games, and treats as we celebrate the beginning of a new school year!

    Our Breakers swim team will be providing FREE hot dogs, chips, snow cones and lemonade while supplies last. We hope to see you there!

    Breakers Division Champions - Finish 2023 Season undefeated!!

    The Greenwood Forest Breakers had an amazing season!  We had a 5-0 season and are now Divisional Champions!!  We are so proud of all our swimmers who worked hard and showed not only great swimming skills but also team spirit and good sportsmanship.  The Breakers are an awesome group of neighbors who work together to make up our Breaker family - Thanks so much for all the support and a fabulous season! Way to go Breakers!!

    This week we will have practice for our invitational swimmers on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning:

    10 & under: 9am to 10am

    11 & up: 10am to 11am

    Remember that our end of year banquet is Tuesday, June 27th at 6:30pm - we hope to see everyone there!!

    Breakers Win vs. OCV! Next Meet Saturday vs. Cutten Green

    Hey Breakers,

    We had some amazing swims this past weekend at Sprint Sizzler and our home meet vs. OCV with a final score of 751.5 to 614.5!  We are now 4-0!!  Crazy Hat Day was also a blast! 

    We have our final dual meet before our Divisional Meet this Saturday, June 10th at the Cutten Green pool.  We need all our Breakers ready to swim fast!

    Breakers Bring Home Win vs. Winchester!

    Breakers had their first win last Saturday!! Swimmers and parents alike all participated to make the meet a success. The final score for the meet was Breakers 691, and Winchester 602! We had some amazing races with 90% of swimmers improving in at least one of their races and 153 improved times—way to go Breakers!!!

    Just a few reminders, Parents & Swimmers please sign in at the Volunteer table upon arriving at the meet. If a swimmer does not sign in there is the possibility that he/she could be scratched from the meet. This week’s meet will be HOME vs. Terranova West.Please be at the pool on Saturday morning no later than 7:00 AM for volunteer & swimmer check-in and warm-ups.

    We have 2 mid-season invitationals coming up in June with Sprint Sizzler Invitational on June 4-5 and Pentathlon on June 11th. The Sprint Sizzler will be a qualifying meet for all of our 10-under swimmers. The meet invitation with qualifying times is being emailed. Any 13 and up swimmer can register for any events with no qualifying time required. Pentathlon will be a 5 event meet with a combined qualifying time for any swimmer wanting to enter. Qualifying times and meet invitational will be emailed as well. I will need a list of interested swimmers for Sprint Sizzler no later than Friday May 26, with a final qualifier check after the meet on Saturday the 27th.

    For our meet on Saturday remember all your supplies including your sunblock, chairs, tents, gear, and any food and water to help you be successful. Let’s continue to practice hard this week. Focus on our starts, break outs and finishes this week and push each other to have a great week and a great meet on Saturday!

    We are hoping to have another exciting meet for the Breakers. See you pool side!

Order are available on the website & were emailed with the newsletter earlier this week. Please bring them filled out on Friday.

    Independence Day Parade & Party at the Pool Monday July 4th!

    Hey Breakers!

    We have had a great 51st Summer League Season & Team Banquet and we just want to thank everyone who volunteered and helped out to make it possible for our swimmers!

    We have our last team event of this season, the 4th of July Parade & Party at the pool this Monday July 4th and we hope to see everyone there!!

    It's a long-standing tradition for The Breakers to march in parade as a team! Rain or shine we will be meeting at Kinsmen Lutheran Church at 9am to park and organize. Swimmers are encouraged to decorate their bike or strollers to participate in the decorating contest. There will be a team truck in the parade for our younger swimmers to ride in as well. After the parade there will be a short ceremony at the Clubhouse followed by swimming and festivities that are open to the public. Swim team will be providing concessions and sponsoring games with all funds going towards equipment for the swim team. We also have 1 hour volunteer shift positions if you’d like to help with food, games, etc. at the party if you would like to help or if you still need volunteer points.

    We will be accepting donation Sunday July 3rd from 1pm to 5pm at the Clubhouse for baked goods for the cake walk, Bingo prizes, and raffle prizes.

    Breakers End of Year Baquet June 28th 2022

    Hey Breakers!

    We have had an awesome, fun season and we are excited to celebrate with everyone at our 51st Annual Swim Team Banquet on Tuesday, June 28th at 6:30pm!!

    Please  let us know how many people are in your family group by RSVPing Here and including family members, swimmers and any guests.We do not want to run out of food, so please be sure to fill it out and include everyone in your family group.

    Also, please pay $20 for your family group through the Breakers Shop

    This year we are excited to have our end of year banquet and awards ceremony at the GWF Clubhouse! This is a great time to celebrate and wrap up our season. All swimmers (including our BITS) will be recognized at this fun event that you don’t want to miss! Doors will open at 6:00 pm and we will start serving dinner at 6:30pm with awards starting at 7:30pm.

    Dinner is being catered by Swanny's Grill and will include a Pasta dinner of Penne with Chicken Alfredo sauce with sides of Caesar Salad and Bread Sticks. Drinks will include lemonade and water, and there will be cake for dessert. The cost for the banquet will be $20 per family group. Please RSVP through the website for ALL members of your group by Sunday June 26th at 5pm so we can have an accurate count for food, and pay through the Breakers Shop link in on the schedule page. We are also looking for volunteers to help with the event, so you can sign-up through the website as well.

    Breakers Victory at HOME vs TNW! 4-1 Season!!

    A GREAT WAY TO CLOSE OUT

    OUR DUAL MEETS!!!!!

    It was super close and exciting and with our final dual meet ending with a win and a final score of Breakers 641 and Terranova West 640.  On Saturday every single swimmer and every single race was important in our victory.  We ended our dual meets with a 4-1 season!!!  Congratulations Breakers!!

    Next up is our Divisional Meet next Saturday, June 18th at Cy-Fair Natatorium!

    Breakers 3rd Victory this Season vs. Oak Creek Village!

    Way to Go Breakers!!

    Breakers swam fast last weekend at our away meet at Oak Creek Village with a score of 670 to 613!  Thanks & congratulations to all the Breakers who came out and swam their best!!  We also had some great swims at the Sprint Sizzler on Sunday & Monday with many swimmers qualifying for Red White and Blue and Ponderosa!

    This weekend we have our last home meet vs. Terranova West, so we need everyone to be there by 7am ready to swim fast!  Also remember that it's Crazy Hat day, so bring your Breaker spirit and your crazies hats!  Let's make our last HOME meet of the season a Greenwood victory!

    AWAY Meet vs. Oak Creek Village: Saturday, June 4th

    Address:

    3906 Gladeridge Drive, Houston, TX 77068

    Timeline:

    Please arrive by 7:00am (it is about a 10 min drive) to drop off tents, coolers, etc.and for parking. Be sure to check in swimmers and volunteers with our coordinator.  Our set-up area is in front of the OCV clubhouse.  As the visiting team our warm-ups start at 7:30 am.

    Concessions: are cash or check

  • Please bring all the necessary items such as swim caps, goggles, towels, sunscreen, chairs, tents, drinks and snacks. Sharpie to write races, masks, activities for swimmers between races like cards, games, etc.
  • Parking: will be at Reynolds Elementary which is adjacent to the pool. There will be parking spaces for coaches and officials in the parking lot next to the pool. There will be a parking attendant on duty to help with all of this. Equipment trucks will be able to pull in next to the team are to drop off tents etc…. Our setup area will be in front of the clubhouse.

    Breakers Bring Home the Win vs. Lakewood Forest!

    We had a ton of great swims at this weekend’s competition against Lakewood, coming back with our second win of the season with a score of 668 to 603!!

    Big Win for GWF Breakers!

    Breakers had their first win last Saturday!!  Swimmers and parents alike all participated to make the meet a success.  The final score for the meet was Breakers 675, and North Spring 521!  We had some amazing races and huge improvements from most of our swimmers!
