Get ready to dive in for a great cause! This summer, the Breakers is hosting our annual Swim-a-Cross, and we need your energy, your strokes, and your support to make it our biggest event yet.

Whether you’re a freestyle flyer or a backstroke beginner, every lap you swim helps our team reach its goals.

Our Swim-a-Cross isn’t just about seeing how many laps we can do—it’s about coming together as a community. The funds raised this year will go directly toward:

• New Equipment: Helping our swimmers stay competitive with updated blocks and timers.
• Team Scholarships: Ensuring that every child in our community has the opportunity to join the team, regardless of financial background.

• Season Finale Celebration: Recognizing the individual and collective performance of our swimmers.

How It Works

1. Sign Up: Grab your pledge sheet at the practice two weeks before the event or download it from our website.
2. Gather Pledges: Ask friends, family, and neighbors to sponsor you. They can pledge a flat donation or a per-lap amount (e.g., $1.00 per lap). 
3. The Big Event: On this day Swimmers will have practice to complete as many laps as they can. We will need volunteers to help count laps and cheer on the swimmer. 
   • 6 and under (5:00-5:30pm) 
   • 7 – 10 yrs. (5:30-6:30pm) 
   • 11 & up (6:30-7:30pm)

Prizes 

Prizes will be awarded to top fund raisers in each age group, and a $25 dollar gift card will be awarded to our Top 3 fundraisers, as well as, 4 of July Parade “bragging” rights (complete with sash and crown), for the Top Boy and Top Girl fundraiser. Snow Cones and popcorn will be provided, for the swimmers, after they’ve complete their laps

How may sponsors pay? 

Sponsors may pay their pledge with cash, checks, which should be made payable to Greenwood Forest Swim Team. Zelle payments are also accepted please record it on the sponsor pledge form and in zelle memo please have swimmers name & Swimacross so that your swimmer gets credit for it. 

Turning in pledges

If you have collected all pledges (money), on or before the Swim-ACROSS date, please bring both the pledge form and all the money with you when you come to swim. If you still need to collect pledges, bring your form, so we can tally your laps. After swimming your lengths, be sure to collect everything and return it on or before the cut-off date… No Later Than- (Friday June 5, 2026), Coach Amber or Ms. Christine
